my portrait inspirations as Oxford photographer

Portrait photography is about capturing the sitter's essence (the person being photographed). It is a stark contrast to fashion photography you see in the magazine, where the purpose of the picture is to showcase the fashion, clothing design and materials, rather than the sitter. My portrait photography inspirations always come from classical paintings and drawings or the works of the old photography masters. I like to reference classical masterpieces from the Georgian era in the 1700s and the Victorian era of photography in the 1800s-1900s. I have a few books that are priceless as they contain loads of classical artwork aligned to my visual output and enrich my portrait poses repertoire.
